Little Boy and The Rocking Chair (i)

To and from, to and fro
It went, the little boy went.
He would have closed his eyes
If the horizon had kept still,
But it kept going.
Up and down, up and down
So the boy rocked.

  1. i wrote this piece before i came across Kate Mansfields' Little Boy's Dream, and i must confess it overwhelmed me and purturbed in the same respect. I mean i asked myself if maybe it leapt from my sub concience and yet it reinforced my respect in the universality of poetic thinking, and so i redid it as an ode to the great poet whose works i have come to love and revere.
